About The Position
Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases / American Medical group is a rapidly growing multi-specialty group head quartered in Fort Walton Beach. Due to the growth, we are expanding our departments and are looking for some reliable staff who learn quick who can add to the team specializing in Surgery Scheduling. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for the surgery coordination and education of services for our patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to premium services conversion, surgery scheduling, paperwork, and patient coordination of all procedures provided by our doctors. Must be extremely organized, detailed, and an effective communicator. Experience is a plus! but willing to train the right person!
Responsibilities
- Provides patients with pre-op and postoperative appointment details.
- Schedule appointment dates/times for patients and physicians using a computerized scheduling system with the ability to assist patients in compliance with pre-op and post-op regiments.
- Interact with patients, physicians, and other staff, both within the clinic/ASC and at outside facilities, providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
- Coordinate processes and route all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirements.
- Provides accurate, thorough, and complete documentation of all information pertinent to patient treatment.
- Returns and responds to all calls relating to scheduling.
- Ensures that any necessary medical clearances are obtained by the patient prior to surgery.
- Communicates with assigned physician and surgery center staff and surgical reps to ensure all special supplies are received prior to the surgical date and informs ASC/ hospitals of any add-on patients.
- Reschedules appointments as needed.
- Helps with other ancillary tasks including but not limited to following up with patients that no-show or cancel surgical appointments, sending orders and consents to outside hospitals, etc.
