As an Operating Room Surgery Scheduler , you will fulfill all tasks related to scheduling and confirming patients for upcoming surgical cases at Banner Health Medical Center. To accomplish these takes, you will utilize strong decision making, communication and problem-solving skills aimed at maximizing customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, nursing staff, and administrative colleagues. Additionally, we are seeking an individual with a high level of accountability (and, as needed, sense of urgency) as required to successfully fulfill the time-sensitive needs of customers that partner with us each day to provide optimal patient care. Our dynamic environment requires adaptability and strong time management to complete critical tasks with varying complexities and volumes. This position is full time, Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. This position will work on-site at Banner University South Medical Center. Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive academic medical center that includes an Emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, treatment and education for diabetes, innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for scheduling surgical, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures using a computerized scheduling system. The position is also responsible for entering patient charges, orders, and other pertinent information into the system and compiling and reporting statistical information to management. The incumbent may act as an office liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families.
