About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Manager or designee and is responsible for performing the clerical and receptionist functions of the Work Area. Supports the Professional Practice & Caring Model Principles practiced at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. Focuses on the ability to perform and coordinate office activities and ensure that information is disseminated in a timely manner to staff and participants. Acts as the focus of communication regarding all staff, physicians, patient care activities, family, and visitor requests. May be required to work variable hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate good verbal skills to communicate clearly and tactfully as well as demonstrate an outgoing and courteous manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work hours varying between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database management programs and basic PC knowledge while being proficient in keyboarding, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is also preferred.
  • Previous experience is preferred but not required.
