As a Surgery Scheduler on the team, you will schedule procedures and in-person follow-up appointments within various departments of the Stuart Family Health Center. You will provide support and assistance to department associates and medical staff to improve patient care and workflow while implementing methods to achieve established goals and objectives. This is a larger team and a fast-paced environment, requiring the caregiver in this role to have excellent customer service skills as well as be a team player and active listener. This position is an excellent steppingstone to other careers within Customer Service and different departments at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to type at 40WPM

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience working as a secretary in an acute care imaging setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Medical terminology and computer knowledge
  • Previous medical office experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver imaging materials to other departments and nursing units as requested.
  • Conduct data entry and retrieval of information from the appropriate information systems.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule and advise a supervisor of any items needed.
  • Submit ideas for department quality or performance improvement.
  • Provide customer service by answering and routing telephone calls.
  • Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.
  • Aid other associates in the department upon completion of responsible duties or as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.
