About The Position

As a Surgery Scheduler you will play a key role on our Surgery Counselor Team, providing education and guidance throughout the patient's experience. You will schedule patients for surgery and ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed. WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON: Providing instructions to patients with upcoming surgeries. Prepare surgical charts. Schedule post-op appointments. Confirm surgery dates with the patient. Check voicemail and return calls within a 24 hour timeframe. Assist with other administrative duties and patient communication. Understand and is competent at the EMR and Scheduling systems and assist in scheduling patients for surgery. Work with Surgical Counselors to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Communicate fee schedule, finance options and insurance.

Requirements

  • Prior practice management system experience or at least one year of previous patient registration experience or related role.
  • Strong knowledge with Excel, Google, MS Office, Nextech, Allscripts.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Self starter, solution focused with ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations related to the Healthcare field.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with administration and providers.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, detail oriented, and self motivated.
  • A keen eye for details to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to appropriately convey information both orally and in writing to patients, clinicla, and non-clinical personnel.
  • Courteous and willing to provide support to patients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Ophthalmology/Optometry, healthcare, administrative or customer service work experience preferred.
