Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Ability to type 40 words per minute.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience working as a secretary in an acute care imaging setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all patients are scheduled for their procedures and that required documentation is completed prior to surgery.
• Deliver imaging materials to other departments and nursing units as requested.
• Conduct data entry and retrieval of information from appropriate information systems.
• Maintain adequate supplies in the work area and advise a supervisor of any items needed.
• Submit ideas for quality or performance improvement for department operations.
• Provide customer service by answering and routing telephone calls.
• Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.
• Aid other associates in the department upon completion of responsible duties or as assigned by a supervisor.
• Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.
