About The Position

The position is responsible for scheduling all inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures according to the standards established by EvergreenHealth Surgical Services and EvergreenHealth Surgical Center. The role includes obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations and assisting with other clerical duties required for the efficient operations of the clinic.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment
• Previous experience in office support or administrative role
• Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology
• Possess verbal and written skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients

Nice To Haves

• College or vocational training in medical terminology/insurance and billing
• Experience with surgery scheduling
• Knowledge of Medicare, DSHS, and other third party reimbursement regulations

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment for surgical cases done at EvergreenHealth for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures.
• Works cooperatively with the schedulers at EvergreenHealth surgical facilities.
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations.
• Obtains insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicates same to patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
