POSITION OVERVIEW: Schedules surgeries/appointments for patients by telephone or in person in a timely and efficient manner. Works collaboratively with surgical locations, other members of patient's care team, and prior authorization team to coordinate care and ensure all preoperative requirements are met in timely/efficient manner/ This includes but not limited to, coordinating appointments for preoperative clearance, scheduling post-operative appointments, getting surgeon's orders to appropriate locations. Ensures the patient is aware of date/location of surgery and any preoperative requirements. Actively participates in quality improvement for department efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One-and one-half (1.5) years of related experience and/or training required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Medical Terminology helpful.
  • Basic telephone and computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and keep work organized in a hectic work environment, with patient care always being the priority.
  • Insurance knowledge.

Responsibilities
