IF this sounds like the type of team and environment you want to be a part of, apply today! Position Summary: Our Surgery Radiology Technologist, works in a fast paced and high volume OR setting. Our OR technologists work closely with the OR teams and physicians to obtain operative and c-arm fluoroscopic images during sterile procedures and surgeries.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an A.M.A. approved radiologic technology school- required.
  • Licensure: ARRT (R)- required.
  • Nebraska state Medical Radiographer license- required.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)- required.
  • Able to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner.
  • General knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques to acquire necessary orthopedic and fluoroscopic views.
  • Perform quality diagnostic and fluoroscopic x-ray exams for interpretation according to established guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: 1+ years of hospital surgery experience- preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accurate and safe operation of radiation emitting equipment by following established radiation safety protocols to protect the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Perform quality diagnostic portable x-ray and c-arm exams, acquiring necessary images for interpretation by a supervising physician.
  • Able to adjust technical parameters to provide the optimal images.
  • Able to assess the patient's ability to comply with the required positioning for the exam and adjust as needed to complete the exam in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Able to perform independently and in a team setting to complete a variety of exams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform minimally required safety evaluations of the equipment by following established guidelines to detect problems.
  • Able to operate large c-arms, mini c-arms, portable x-ray, and 3D c-arm.
  • Work directly with the surgeon during surgical cases to optimize positioning and image quality, while maintaining sterile field.
  • Able to be on-call for evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
