Surgery Nurse
About The Position
As our Surgery Nurse at SJHMC, you will work in our twelve-room OR suite which maintains a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, this enables us to form close relationships with patients and their families during very difficult times. We also feature a 44-bay multi-level PACU with staff dedicated to trauma and other emergency cases. Our PACU features a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Throughout the unit we are committed to using the latest technology, affording staff the opportunity to constantly learn and enhance their skills. As a Level I Trauma Center, we are operational 24/7. Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000.
Requirements
- BSN upon hire
- AZ RN license upon hire
- American Heart Association BLS upon hire
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year recent acute care experience
- Experience in trauma, ortho, robotics, and GYN
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
- Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
- Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
- Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
- Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
