About The Position

Prepares the operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists in the operating room as assigned or directed. Acts as the primary contact for vendor relations, and management of supplies and equipment in the operating room. Responsible for maintains and updating physician preference cards. Responsible for analyzing and making recommendations for inventory reduction by specialty. Assists with orientation, support and education of new staff personnel. Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal Surgical Technician training program.
  • Six months experience in an acute care O.R. required.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the operating room.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
  • Speaks, reads and writes English.
  • Current BLS required. (Must be AHA certified)

  • Surgical Certificate preferred.
