Surgery/Hybrid (ER/GP) Veterinary Technician
About The Position
VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital and Emergency Center in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a skilled and adaptable Veterinary Technician to join our team in a hybrid role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across both our Surgery and Emergency departments, providing variety in your schedule and experience. Responsibilities
- Perform various procedures including fluid therapy, medication administration, enteral feedings, oxygen therapy, basic wound care and CPR.
- Triaging and assessment of patient status
- Conduct basic phlebotomy, IV catheterization, dose calculations, and hands free digital radiography.
- Familiarity with common drugs, including the safe handling and administration of controlled substances.
- Proficient in computer input, maintaining logs, and preparing hospital documents.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prepare the clinic for subsequent shifts.
- Excellent client communication abilities for diverse situations like discharges, updates, grief counseling, and coordinating with other departments.
