About The Position

The ENV SVC ATTENDANT is responsible for keeping assigned areas clean and sanitary by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicidal disinfectants, and damp dusting. The role includes performing other duties as listed in Essential Duties and Responsibilities, maintaining a neat and clean work station, and learning to use floor equipment as required.

Requirements

• Tenth grade education or documentation of completed level of education.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous healthcare and/or institutional Environmental Service experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
• Must be able to read and write and follow written and oral directions.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with other members of the healthcare team, customers, and guests.
• Requires judgment and alertness.
• Ability to organize time, prioritize, and concentrate.
• Experience using computers and computer software programs.

Responsibilities

• Completes assignments and duties and is responsible for cleanliness and aseptic conditions of assigned areas.
• Cleans discharge/transfer units properly.
• Collects soiled linen or distributes clean linen as needed and handles them properly.
• Uses equipment and materials properly in daily assignments.
• Performs cycle cleaning projects or extra cleaning such as wall washing, window washing, changing cubicles or window curtains, and floor care as assigned.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies and restocks them when necessary, storing them in a neat, orderly fashion.
• Answers calls as needed.
• Trains new staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
