About The Position

VCA Veterinary Emergency Service and Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking a Surgeon to join our team! Our hospital group is a steadily expanding specialty hospital in the Madison, WI area. As a specialist in small animal surgery at VCA-VESVSC, you will have the full support of our board certified specialists and experienced ER veterinarians. Our doctors and staff will work side-by-side with you in a collaborative and encouraging manner to ensure the best outcome for our patients. Our specialties include Surgery, Internal Medicine and Oncology. The successful surgeon will work out of both our Middleton and Madison hospital. Both were recently renovated & expanded, and boast two surgery suites, a surgical procedure room, a dedicated oncology suite and an internal medicine suite. Both sites house a a multislice CT scanner and ultrasound (GE logic E10). VCA-VESVSC Middleton also as on-site location for Antech Labs that treats all our labs as stat requests. Results integrate into our medical records system. Most results are available within an hour. Our surgery service has been operating for 10 years and continues to grow. With the highest ER caseload in the region, there is a strong caseload of primary, secondary soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. We are particularly proud of the high oncologic surgery caseload. Specific surgical equipment includes Synthes TPLO equipment, LCP/LCDCP/DCP plates, laparoscopy and arthroscopy, LigaSure, TA/GIA staplers, hall surgairtome drill among others. The Madison area is home to a diverse population of approximately half a million, with a local airport (MSN), relatively low cost housing and cost of living, yet incredible variety of cultural experiences- food, sports, theater and music. The area boasts excellent schools and is frequently ranked top in the country in terms of health, happiness and overall quality of life. Milwaukee and Chicago are within 2 hours drive for international getaways; Daily direct flights from Madison Airport to Chicago, Minneapolis, NYC, DC, Denver, Atlanta.
