About The Position

Provide on-site subject matter expertise (SME) in Surface Vessels Operational Mobility Analysis for the Littoral Maneuver Branch (LMB), at Headquarters Marine Corps, Deputy Commandant for Combat Development & Integration (DC, CD&I), Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC), Maritime Expeditionary Warfare Division (MExW), Quantico, VA. Primary Duties: Assist with identification of littoral maneuver and surface vessel requirements for the Marine Corps and the Naval Expeditionary Force and assist with the associated capability development documentation as defined in the JCIDS process. Leverage operational experience and technical expertise to assist in developing functional concepts, concepts of employment (COE), and concepts of operations (CONOPS) documentation for littoral maneuver and Surface Ship/Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessel Participate in the planning, design, and execution of littoral maneuver and Surface Ship/Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessels demonstrations, operational evaluations (OPEVALS), assessments, acceptance trials, and assist in the documentation and adjudication of observations. Assist with the development and refinement of littoral maneuver and Surface Ship/Craft/Connector Mission Essential Tasks and Task Lists (METs/METLs), and Marine Corps Task List (MCTL). Support doctrine development, and periodic doctrine reviews associated with Marine Corps, and Naval Expeditionary Force littoral maneuver and Surface Ship/Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessels operations. Assist with collaboration efforts through various resource sponsors to ensure Marine Corps and Naval Expeditionary Force required capabilities and equities are accurately interpreted and incorporated within appropriate littoral maneuver and Surface Ship/Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessels requirements documentation. Assist with Science and Technology (S&T) efforts necessary to enhance future littoral maneuver and Surface Craft/Connector capabilities of the Marine Corps and Naval Expeditionary Force. Supplemental Duties: Provide research analysis, information management, presentation preparation, report generation, and methodology development. Provide input and representation on Surface Ship/Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessels operational capabilities, capacities, and employment, to include their interface with ships and force exercises and operations. Enable effective decision making by researching, retrieving, and aggregating information from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. Develop, refine, and apply a variety of analytical methods and tools to identify Ship/Surface Craft/Connector/Unmanned vessels requirements, capabilities, gaps, and solutions. Elicit and define requirements and use data and metrics to draw programmatic Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both programmatic and technical teams. Administrative Duties: Prepare information papers and program briefs for leadership. Prepare and submit monthly accomplishment reports to the Task Prepare and submit travel request forms and trip reports as necessary. Complete required annual government training. Assist in publishing the Maritime Expeditionary Warfare Annual Report. Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma, AA Degree or years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experienced Surface Warfare operational research analysis in military planning and/or
  • Knowledge of Navy/Marine Corps policies and procedures
  • Must possess or be eligible for a SECRET
  • Capable of working efficiently within a military staff environment that requires coordination at the Navy & Marine Corps service and joint staff levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and availability of private transportation may be required for local travel
