About The Position

The Surface Treater position at Pratt & Whitney involves setting up and operating various manual and automatic part treatment equipment, including heat treat, flame spray, and coating equipment. The role is essential for performing work on Overhaul & Repair parts, ensuring that methods and techniques are followed, and proper tooling is utilized. The position requires adherence to standard practices for surface treatment operations and involves routine maintenance of equipment. This is a full-time role on the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months experience with metal finishing methods/machine shop/coating experience
• Must be a US Citizen due to Federal Contracts.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years experience in Surface Treatment
• 2 years Trades experience

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform the work necessary to set-up and operate various manual and automatic part treatment equipment.
• Perform work on Overhaul & Repair parts where methods and techniques are usually established.
• Perform braze fab prep, assembly, and masking as required.
• Follow standard practices and operating procedures for striping, cleaning, and braze fab operations.
• Set up and operate automatic and manual flame spray, plating, painting, and coating equipment.
• Load, unload, and monitor heat treat furnaces for various operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of spray units and related equipment.
• Assist others with new part process tryout and specialized assignments.
• Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
• Train for, obtain, and maintain licenses and certifications as required.
