The Doe Run Company is seeking a Surface Maintenance Supervisor to manage the planning and preventive maintenance and repair activities of an assigned surface crew, including mobile and stationary equipment, to maintain infrastructure, reduce unscheduled downtime and support optimal production. This position is located at our Fletcher Mine in Boss, MO. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial production and maintenance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic skills with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Maintenance Management Systems, I-series (LIMS, ETMS), HRIS (UKG), Budgeting (Adaptive), Invoicing (Dataserv)
  • Knowledge of mill and hoist equipment maintenance
  • Proficient in pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and fabrication, and mechanical repairs
  • Proficient in the mechanics of shafts, gearboxes, bearings, and sprockets
  • Basic electrical knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and collaborate with operations departments to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance projects.
  • Prioritize and assign job tasks to appropriate crew members and ensure assignments are safely completed.
  • Ensure documentation related to maintenance systems, purchasing, HR, Safety and other related systems are complete, accurate, up-to-date, and maintained for your assigned crew.
  • Interact with vendors to review new products and services to improve efficiency and safety and to ensure work goals are completed.
  • Ensure direct reports handle hazardous waste in accordance with all trainings and regulations; conduct Weekly Hazardous Waste Inspections (Fletcher and 29)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan future projects; determine when major maintenance needs to be done to eliminate production loss and manage process to schedule parts, people, and time.
  • Maintain EHS (environmental, health and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
