About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Surface Leader within U.S. Onshore Resources & Carbon Management - Enhanced Oil Recovery (ORCM EOR) Waterflood team located in Odessa, TX. The Surface Leader supervises a team of surface experts and contractors that focus on operational surface remediation in assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in operations and maintenance
  • 5+ years of industry experience in operations, production, and maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Manage surface direct reports with performance goals, standards, surface operational strategies and best practices to ensure business plan execution
  • Interface with Operations Support Team Leaders and Reservoir Team Leader to establish and maintain boundaries
  • Accountable for equipment conditions in assigned areas
  • Coach, motivate and develop staff in order to improve their skills and enable them to fulfill job requirements
  • Accountable for knowing and complying with all applicable regulations, safety policies and company HES training requirements
  • Responsible for key performance metrics: surface downtime/reliability, surface expenses, safety and environmental emissions compliance, maintenance capital, Maximo maintenance compliance, well test KPI's
  • Actively contribute to performance management for teams and teammates
  • Deal with unacceptable performers (progressive discipline)
  • Assist with conflict management
  • Assist in career development
  • Serve as a resource (experience, knowledge, process) to team and teammates
  • Creates an environment where members of the team make the day-to-day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions
