About The Position

Ready to turn sharp edges into flawless finishes? Join TOMZ—where high‑precision metal machining, finishing, assembly, and anodize processes support Medical Devices. As a Surface Finishing & Edge Break Technician, you’ll report to the cell lead and ensure every machined component is safe, smooth, and within spec. You will uphold ISO 13485 documentation and follow the TOMZ Quality Management System (QMS) while hitting quality and schedule targets.

Requirements

Excellent manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
Ability to read basic blueprints and follow detailed work instructions.
Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Obsessive attention to detail; precision and quality mindset.
Strong time management; reliable at meeting deadlines.
Teamwork, clear communication, problem‑solving, and adaptability.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent directly transferable work experience (Manufacturing or Engineering discipline preferred).
Completion of a technical school program is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

Previous deburring, machining, or general manufacturing experience.
Background in regulated manufacturing (Aerospace, Defense, Pharmaceutical, etc.).

Responsibilities

Deburr, polish, and finish machined or fabricated parts to remove sharp edges and imperfections.
Use hand tools (files, scrapers, deburr knives, sandpaper) and power tools; operate bead blast or tumbling equipment as needed.
Inspect with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual checks to confirm conformity.
Read work orders, prints, and specifications to meet customer and internal requirements.
Maintain precision while working with small, delicate parts.
Keep your area clean and organized; maintain tools in good condition.
Report nonconforming parts or material issues to production or quality personnel.
Meet production goals and timelines without compromising standards.
Follow safety guidelines and company procedures at all times.
Adhere to the TOMZ QMS and maintain ISO 13485 records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
