Ready to make a splash this summer? Join our team at the coolest Surf Club in town and dive into a fun-filled job as Surf Admission/Retail Attendant. Come join our team at the Palm Springs Surf Club. The Surf Check-In/Retail Attendant serves as the first point of contact for members and guests of the surf club. This role is responsible for welcoming visitors, managing daily check-ins and reservations, providing club information, and supporting smooth front-desk and retail operations. A friendly attitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Part-time availability required, including early mornings, evenings, and especially weekends.
  • Previous experience in customer service, front desk operations, and/or retail is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and friendly under pressure.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including booking systems, email, and POS software.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as e-mail communication, instant message communications, legal documents, license agreements, contracts, invoices, news articles, technical manuals, budgets, ledgers, purchase orders, financial, marketing, Inventory, shipping, and various reports. Ability to effectively present information, provide instructions and thoroughly answer questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to efficiently use inventory, ordering & computer systems or applications and Microsoft Office programs.
  • United States Citizen or Alien Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Open availability is preferred.
  • Knowledge of surfing terminology or personal surf experience is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and nights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting members and guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Check in surfers for surf sessions and assist with reservations.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, bookings, and reservations.
  • Manage check-ins and reservations for cabanas and daybeds.
  • Assist customers with surf rentals and ring up transactions.
  • Provide information about surf conditions, schedules, equipment rentals, and club policies.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails or in-person inquiries.
  • Handle payments and issue receipts for surf sessions, rentals, and merchandise.
  • Operate the Shopify POS system, process transactions, and handle returns or exchanges.
  • Assist customers with product selection, inquiries, and purchases.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor and front desk area.
  • Restock shelves, fold or arrange merchandise, and manage inventory levels.
  • Monitor for theft and follow established loss prevention procedures.
  • Stay knowledgeable about products, club policies, and current promotions.
  • Coordinate with Surf Patrol, Surf Liaison, and other club staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work with VIP customers to provide a high level of service.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and maintain club and store standards.
