About The Position

The individual must assume the first line supervision responsibilities of coordinating the work and leading the work force to safely perform all distribution systems and construction activities as required. Maintain all qualifications and ensure employees obtain and retain necessary qualifications. In addition, oversight of operations work supporting our distribution systems and construction necessary to execute work. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of the Exelon Management Model for business controls and meet management's expectation for conducting effective business. The person must be self-directed, self-motivated and model the behaviors/values of a high performing organization. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years internal utility company experience (e.g., BGE, PHI PECO & ComEd), or equivalent external experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated ability to support and enforce safe work behavior.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve team performance
  • Demonstrated ability at planning/scheduling of projects

  • Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Expertise, including inspection programs, corrective actions, and field documentation.
  • Waste Management & Materials Handling, including inspection programs and documentation related to transportation of regulated and non-regulated waste streams.

  • Special Certification: CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) for DOT, RCRA etc.

Responsibilities

  • Direct distribution operations support workforce to ensure the safe, efficient completion of work tasks to a specific schedule. Help with work as needed.
  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide individuals or groups (subordinates, peers, and superiors) toward goal achievement; modifying behavior according to tasks and individuals involved. This includes dealing with Union reps and grievances.
  • Establish a course of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific work tasks, which include planning assignments of personnel and appropriate resource allocation.
  • Review and evaluate work tasks using experience and expertise to plan and sequence work to be accomplished by others.
  • Establish performance goals, coach, provide training, and evaluate performance.
  • Develop alternative courses of action that are based on logical assumptions and factual information after considering resources, constraints, and organizational values
  • Support emergency work required to restore service to customers and/or emergency operations.
  • Directly lead a union workforce responsible for supporting the safe and efficient distribution systems and construction.
  • Execute work plans to meet schedule and budgetary requirements.
  • Determine manpower and equipment requirements necessary for scheduled and emergent work demands.
  • Coordinate with internal groups, such as work management, engineering, supply to accomplish assigned work.
  • Interface with external agencies, such as city, county and state officials and residential, commercial and industrial customers to coordinate construction activities.
  • Direct and guide employees in proper safe work practices.
  • Supervise crew activity to ensure maximum crew utilization and productivity.
  • Plan, direct, monitor, and communicate the activities of the assigned crews.
  • Conduct safety meetings, safety audits, accident investigations, and distribution incident reviews.
  • Plan, coordinate and organize available manpower, tools and material to accomplish the operating, maintenance, and installation/construction activities.
  • Review all documentation such as timesheets, productivity reports and occupational injury reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by members of the work group.
  • Conduct, facilitate, and/or coordinate training as required.
  • Participate in storm restoration activities as required.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $102,400.00/Yr. – $140,800.00/Yr.
