Responsible for ensuring efficient delivery of quality diagnostic imaging procedures to all patients. Ensures training and orientation on all imaging equipment. Maintains operations according to departmental policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and TJC.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technology program
  • Current registration by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health: Radiation Control Program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in Radiology
  • Minimum one (1) year of lead/supervisory experience in a diagnostics area
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate others
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with patients to explain procedures and ensure safety and comfort during scans
  • Ability to follow procedures and policies
  • Ability to use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff
  • Ability to process, review and evaluate images or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to record, process and maintain thorough and accurate patient data, medical histories, treatment records, and prepare reports
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical staff, personnel, students, and patients
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day supervision and scheduling of radiology staff to ensure efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Submits and corrects payroll records in a timely manner.
  • Oversees that all staff credentials are up to date. Maintains documentation for continuing education credits, CPR and other training, registration, and licensure.
  • Follows all Quality Control policies and procedures for compliance with departmental, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Updates and posts policies, procedures, and protocol in a timely manner.
