About The Position

The SUPV PRODUCTION position involves directing, coordinating, and supervising all disciplines within the given area of responsibility in processing materials or manufacturing products. The goal is to achieve the desired level of costs, quality, and schedule. The role also includes developing and providing leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED.
  • Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree. Training in supervisory and management skills equivalent to an Associate level degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience included in the overall experience requirements.
  • Competent in the processes and procedures for the area over which supervision is exercised.
  • Ability to perform work of subordinates.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Ensures that productivity goals are achieved and maintained. Ensures that quality standards are maintained and continually improved upon. Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Ensures that customer schedules and service are foremost in the minds of direct reports.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Analyzes and selects the proper tools and supplies to be requisitioned.
  • Supervises departmental personnel to achieve the desired level of costs, quality and schedule. Coordinates with direct reports and support departments to implement methods and producibility improvements.
  • Performs other duties as required, which may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
