Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED required.
  • Bachelors of Science degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in leading maintenance operations in a hospital setting.
  • Must be able to coordinate many smaller tasks at one time.
  • Outstanding customer service, organizational and communication skills.
  • Competence in basic Office suite software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delegating work to assigned staff and establishing workflow standards.
  • Responsible for monitoring new task assignments and the backlog of tasks to ensure the timely completion.
  • Responsible for conducting periodic quality control inspections of selected work completed to ensure standards are met and retraining as needed is implemented.
  • Responsible for participation in Daily Operating Report (DOR) Huddles.
  • Responsible for general maintenance necessary to keep the Hospital in full compliance with applicable regulatory standards at all times.
  • Responsible for ordering materials necessary to support both the Carpentry and Maintenance Specialists Shops.
  • Directly responsible for ordering supplies and materials for the Carpentry staff and oversees the ordering for other areas of Plant Maintenance.
  • Ensures that spare parts and materials are available in a timely fashion to affect repairs and maintenance.
  • Responsible for preliminary customer contact for all F-112 requested work.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff and ensures the work is completed efficiently and correctly.
  • Conducts timely orientation and annual performance reviews on assigned staff; counsels and develops performance improvement plans as required.
  • Leads by example, successfully demonstrating the personal attributes defined in the Yale New Haven Health System Core Success Factors.
  • Actively participates in and supports the development, mentoring and coaching of staff.
  • Understands YNHHS vision, goals and strategies and communicates to others. Able to set clear goals and directions.
