About The Position

The Supervisor, Operations (Job Coach) at Deseret Industries is responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring store associates, particularly those facing barriers to employment. This role focuses on developing associates to secure meaningful employment while coordinating vocational rehabilitation counseling. Success is measured by the outplacement of associates, staffing efficiency, and operational excellence within the store.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, education, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Three years of experience in training, education, or business settings, including retail or customer service operations.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, and supervision.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Strong customer service experience with diverse demographics.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data-driven decision making.
• Familiarity with MS Software and PCS/Inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise 12-25 store associates with various disabilities or barriers to employment.
• Schedule and coordinate store associate plans of care with Development Counseling Services.
• Implement behavior management techniques to enhance performance, including de-escalation strategies.
• Manage the store associate training program, focusing on schedule, time management, and soft skills development.
• Oversee retail store operations, including merchandising, inventory, and donation processing.
• Provide expertise in handling complex customer needs regarding policies, pricing, and donations.
• Supervise logistics of the donation center, including supplies, product flow, and customer service.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and respond to incidents as necessary.
• Manage point-of-sale operations, including cash handling and processing deposits.
• Provide suggestions regarding hiring, firing, and promotions of store associates.
