About The Position

The Supervisor – Maintenance will plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance activities for multi-skill mechanics and contractors. Available for consultations and assistance with maintenance or staffing issues throughout the mill. Principle Accountabilities: Plan/Schedule work orders. Supervise the activities of Maintenance personnel assigned to their area. Work closely with engineering to ensure capital projects are implemented with maintenance concerns addressed. Assign and direct work to meet maintenance requirements, while coordinating to meet production schedules with a minimum of downtime and cost. Check all completed work before releasing equipment to Operations Department. Ensure build/repair documentation is completed and recorded. Participate in continuous improvement of preventative maintenance / basic care and documentation. Issue direct and storeroom requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to perform Electrical Maintenance work. Administer company policy, enforce company rules & regulations. Maintain discipline & administer Union-Management Agreement. Participate in plant safety, fire prevention, housekeeping programs & maintain safe working conditions & practices to ensure compliance with State & Federal Safety Standards.

Requirements

  • BSME / BSMET or equivalent
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Technical Training / Experience with Industrial Maintenance
  • Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.
  • Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem solving.
  • Must be capable of working with ambiguity and change.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Industrial Maintenance (bearings, gears, conveyors, drives, etc)
  • Experience with metal and process piping fabrication.
  • Experience with alignment and balancing of rotating equipment.
  • Experience with / understanding of vibration, lubrication, and infrared analysis.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities
