SUMMARY : Supervises departmental workflow and functionality. Ensures consistent quality of examinations and imaging. Maintains regulatory documentation and quality control. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Performs supervisory functions; prepares work schedules, assigns staff, observes performance to provide input to formal evaluations, and makes recommendations for personnel actions; assists in staff selection and provides training and orientation for employees. Communicate effectively with staff and management. Assists management in administering organizational policies and procedures. Assists management in maintaining departmental patient safety guidelines. Assists management in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists management in monitoring and controlling expenses within approved budget allocations; provides input for budget preparation and keeps management appraised of budget variances and unexpected expenses. Maintains equipment in efficient operating order and contacts service for major malfunctions. Assists management in reviewing, updating, and writing technical protocols for studies performed in the department. Assists management in creating and administering skills and competency lists and trains employees to provide a high standardized level of clinical functionality. Manage timekeeping systems to maintain correct payroll entries. Establishes quality control of work performed by department personnel and ensures compliance by maintaining quality assurance records for department. Adheres to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies, and standards. · Performs related duties as assigned. For CT Imaging: In addition to the essential functions stated above, supervisor in CT will also m anage room utilization and maintain continuous communication with emergency room charge nurses and providers. Ensures workflow efficiency by being present on the floor to prioritize pending emergency room patients, inpatient, and outpatient cases. Communicate effectively with CT staff, Emergency room leadership, hospital patient units, Direct manager and Director of imaging. Responsible for communicating and resolving any delays in performing pending CT studies from the emergency room, inpatient and outpatient population. Will be held accountable for unexplained delays in completing scans that affect emergency throughput. Supervisor will coordinate alongside charge CT tech by maintaining a cohesive working relationship. Workflow must be maintained to reduce any barriers for completing CT scans in a timely manner. Monitors CT volumes and identifies bottlenecks, especially during peak hours for emergency room volumes. Ensure staff follow implemented CT surge plan according to standard of work. Collaborate across departments, emergency room, inpatient, transportation, house supervisor to streamline workflows and reduce delays for imaging CT scans. Ensuring equipment readiness and maintenance. Follow site protocols and troubleshoot issues proactively. Overseeing safety and compliance such as radiation protection, ALARA and dose reporting. Staff coordination: Supervising imaging tech assistants and other support roles to maintain productivity and coverage across modality. Ensure the “hourly report” is sent via group chat to the leadership team. Reports to MRI/CT Manager if in need of CT contrast, supplies and/or items needed to perform assigned job.
