Human Resources Supervisor Purpose: Under limited direction, supervise the daily operations and activities of specialized Human Resource (HR) professionals in support of management and other employee groups within the assigned department on a broad range of HR issues and decisions. Austin Police Department is seeking a Human Resources Supervisor to lead a high-performing six-member team responsible for administering Workers’ Compensation, Leave Management, and Occupational Safety programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, minimizing organizational risk, and supporting employee health and well-being across the department. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience facilitating Risk Management functions within a large organization, along with comprehensive knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs. Experience navigating complex employee cases with discretion and sound judgment is essential. This role requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to address multifaceted issues, as well as the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to leadership. The successful candidate will possess strong consulting and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships and foster trust at all levels of the organization.
