About The Position

University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. Under the direction of the Director of Admissions Department, the RN Supervisor assures smooth and orderly processes are followed for responding to Intake calls, referrals, and admission into the hospital. Intake Supervisor is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing supervision for Intake Staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse/Clinical Licensure
• 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care.
• Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources.
• Assist in daily administrative duties and assist the Admissions Director in assigned tasks.
• Complete Intake Assessor and duties as well as Admissions Coordinator as needed within the department.
• Provide effective leadership within the Admissions Department and organize Admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, and referral sources through the referral and Admission process.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees.
• Appraise performance, discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
