About The Position

University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. The RN Supervisor, under the direction of the Director of Admissions Department, assures smooth and orderly processes are followed for responding to Intake calls, referrals, and admission into the hospital. The Intake Supervisor is accountable for assisting in the management of the department, providing supervision for Intake Staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse/Clinical Licensure required.
• 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care.
• Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria and mental status exam.
• Experience in the addiction and recovery field preferred.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of the Admissions Department.
• Provide supervision for Intake Staff.
• Respond to Intake calls and referrals.
• Conduct crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist the Admissions Director in assigned tasks.
• Complete Intake Assessor and Admissions Coordinator duties as needed.
• Organize Admission staff to effectively serve patients and families.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees.
• Appraise performance, discipline employees, and address complaints.
