About The Position

The Supportive Housing Specialist at Missions Inc. Programs is responsible for providing direct support to residents in a residential program for individuals with chronic chemical dependency. This full-time position focuses on ensuring a safe and purposeful environment while assisting residents in their recovery journey. The role involves monitoring resident activities, providing crisis intervention, and maintaining confidentiality and safety within the facility.

Requirements

• Experience with chronic chemical dependency, homelessness, and poverty.
• Prior experience working in a residential program is required.
• Experience mediating problems using de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to maintain safety and provide respectful services in a chemically-free environment.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including email and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services and a secure environment for residents with chronic addiction.
• Monitor medication and resident activities to ensure safety and well-being.
• Assist during meals and snack times, supervising and helping with service.
• Enforce program rules fairly and consistently to maintain smooth operations.
• Mediate conflicts between residents and use de-escalation techniques to resolve issues.
• Supervise work program activities and verify hours worked by residents.
• Assist in resident transportation as needed.
• Conduct random drug/alcohol screenings and document residents' status.
• Provide crisis intervention and handle other tasks as assigned by the Program Director.
