Requirements

• Equal to a Master's degree in a related discipline.
• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
• Minimum of one-year experience in working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Make spiritual assessments of patients, taking into account mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual stresses.
• Respond with appropriate counseling and care.
• Direct the spiritual plan of care.
• Act as a liaison to community clergy.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Train pastoral care volunteers.
