About The Position

The Housing Specialist at Unity House of Troy plays a crucial role in the Supported Housing Program by assisting individuals in securing and maintaining housing. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to promote an inclusive environment and ensure that program participants receive the necessary support to thrive in their housing situations.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Associates Degree and 1 or 2 years experience in human services or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma / GED and 3 Years experience required.
• Experience with rental housing and/or property management preferred.
• Experience may substitute for degree.
• Valid and clean NYS Driver License.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate housing units and provide general housing support to ensure that the people we serve are able to secure and maintain housing.
• Conduct unit inspections and review participant leases.
• Act as a liaison with property owners and advocate for program participants.
• Collaborate with service providers to assist individuals receiving supportive services.
• Use the innovative Housing First Approach Plan to assist with coordination and support to program participants.
• Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.
