About The Position

River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups. The Supported Employment Specialist is more than a career services role, it is a mission-driven position focused on empowering individuals in recovery to achieve meaningful, competitive employment. Our dedicated and compassionate team works closely with clients to identify their strengths, preferences, and career goals while providing continuous support throughout their employment journey. The primary goal of this role is to assist individuals in achieving self-sufficiency through competitive, community-based employment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing supportive employment services.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • ACRE Certification (Basic or Professional Level) – required.
  • Working knowledge of GVRA (Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency) processes and services.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients to support their goals for competitive employment in integrated community settings.
  • Provide paraprofessional social services, participate in treatment team planning, and assist with crisis intervention as needed.
  • Conduct job development activities and establish relationships with local businesses to secure employment opportunities aligned with client preferences.
  • Maintain a minimum caseload engagement standard (e.g., six active client contacts per week, as required).
  • Educate clients on benefits (e.g., SSI, Medicaid) and how employment may impact them to support informed decision-making.
  • Refer clients to benefits counseling and assist with wage reporting as needed.
  • Provide individualized, ongoing support to help clients obtain and maintain employment.
  • Conduct outreach to re-engage clients who may disengage from services, using various communication methods.
