About The Position

Pioneer Human Services is looking for a Supported Employment Specialist with a passion for human services. This position is designated to provide Supported Employment services to assist individuals who want to work and become employed. The role involves ensuring successful employment outcomes through collateral contacts, skills training, cueing, modeling, and supervision as identified by the person-centered assessment. The goal is to help clients become as independent as possible in their vocational roles while providing necessary support and assistance. Individualized Supported Employment services include identifying career and occupational targets, developing relationships with prospective employers, assisting with the interviewing and hiring process, and supporting clients in maintaining employment.

Requirements

  • AA degree in a related field (Human services, business administration, social work, public health, criminal justice, etc.).
  • 2 years’ experience working with individuals who experience behavioral health challenges.
  • Must obtain and maintain an Agency Affiliated Counselor credential (Must apply within 7 days of employment).
  • Be a self-identified client of behavioral health services.
  • Successfully pass and maintain the state certified peer counselor examination administered by the mental health division or an authorized contractor according to 18.19 RCW.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the requirements of a Company Approved Driver.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS Degree in a related field (Human services, business administration, social work, public health, criminal justice, etc.).
  • Experience with state substance use residential treatment facility services.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Supported Employment services to individuals seeking employment.
  • Utilize collateral contacts, skills training, cueing, modeling, and supervision to ensure successful employment outcomes.
  • Integrate Individual Placement and Support (IPS) fidelity for Supported Employment with other behavioral and social services.
  • Identify career and occupational targets for clients.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with prospective employers.
  • Assist clients with the interviewing and hiring process.
  • Support clients in maintaining employment.
