The Supportability Engineer at RTX Corporation is a senior-level engineering role focused on providing leadership and expertise in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for products in the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) and Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) phases. The position involves developing support concepts, ensuring product reliability and maintainability, and collaborating with various stakeholders to meet contractual obligations and project goals.

  • Integrating Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, Supportability, Logistics, and System Safety into product designs
  • Translating customer requirements into executable engineering tasks that meet contractual obligations within cost and schedule boundaries
  • Establishing maintenance concepts and support systems framework and plans for life cycle sustainment
  • Guiding a team in development of maintenance engineering and logistics support products
  • Planning and contributing to proposal efforts
  • Leading internal and external customer reviews
  • Regular interface with Program Management, Functional Management, Customers, Suppliers, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Engineering
  • Briefing senior management on status and critical issues
  • Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing and executing product support and/or logistics support strategies
  • Experience with foundational logistics concepts, requirements allocation, support resource definition, support documentation development, field assessments, and/or in-service support
  • Experience supporting proposal development activities including Technical Volume content or cost Bases of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience using logistics development standards such as S3000L, TA-STD-0017A, MIL-HDBK-502A
  • Familiarity with Reliability predictions, Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) process, Failure Mode and Effects analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and Safety/Hazard Analysis
  • Understanding of system availability and maintainability data collection and analysis
  • Experience in designing support systems, maintenance concepts, and platform level integration of airborne sensors
  • Proven Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership experience
  • Experience communicating with vendors and sub-contractors and developing Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs)
  • Knowledge of, and ability to work within, the Agile Scrum development process
