About The Position

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit is looking for a full-time Support Worker. The Support Worker will work with individuals who are receiving services and are living and recovering from a psychiatric disability and/or substance abuse. The Support Worker provides supportive services geared toward enabling residents to live independently and work toward realizing their full potential. In this role, the Support Worker will work mainly in the field meeting with clients and assisting and supporting to reach pre-determined goals they've identified.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a mental health related discipline OR a High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of related work or life experience.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate billable progress notes.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Commitment to helping others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic with good listening skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to carry out domestic duties.
  • Patient and emotionally resilient.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive services to individuals recovering from psychiatric disabilities and/or substance abuse.
  • Assist clients in reaching pre-determined goals.
  • Spend at least 55% of each day in direct face-to-face contact with persons served.
  • Document all contacts (billable and non-billable) with progress notes.
  • Maintain necessary casework records for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Coordinate care and participate in training and charting.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • Benefit Eligible including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays.
  • Hourly Rate: $19.23 - $21.63 based on credentials and experience.
