Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Assessment Standard: Broad knowledge of MS Word.
  • Technology skills in all Microsoft office programs.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment (copier/fax machine).
  • Effective communication skills with staff, students and parents.
  • Ability to work with people effectively.
  • Human relation skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in performing responsibilities.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
  • Repetitive hand motions.
  • Prolonged use of the computer.
  • Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
  • Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
  • Previous office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with and provide assistance to teachers, students, parents, school and district personnel.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings and conferences.
  • Answer telephone, record, direct and deliver messages.
  • Perform necessary computer skills as needed by principal (i.e. word processing, database, graphics, spreadsheets and data entry).
  • Assist with class scheduling.
  • Prepare and maintain records, if necessary.
  • Participate in cross-training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
