Job Summary This position is primarily responsible for the effective development of the participant workforce by providing direct job coaching, training in all areas of food service operations and grounds maintenance, and ongoing rehabilitation support. The overall goal is to maximize disability employment, job retention, raise outplacement potential, and increase successful outcomes for program participant employees working on AbilityOne Contracts in NC. Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. Provide customized job coaching/systematic intensive training to direct labor AbilityOne participants to ensure successful employment through skill development in the following domains: food services skills, jog readiness, soft skill, & customer service. Provide ongoing support utilizing task analysis, visual aids, & check in with operation staff to ensure successful work placements within the dining facility. Assists with requests for reasonable accommodations and ensures accommodations are Meet weekly with operations staff to provide ongoing employment support, discuss interventions and/or accommodations needed to make employees successful performing their respective tasks, and to provide operations staff with placing employees in areas where they will be successful performing task in the facility monthly staffing. As needed, advises management and rehabilitation team on training progress, needs/concerns, and issues of Ability One participants at participant sites. Responsible for assisting employees with the collection of required disability documents for employment on A-1 sites. Coordinates timely and accurate completion of Initial & Annual AbilityOne Individual Eligibility Evaluations (IEEs) each month and audits IEE’s for revision and assists with Peer Reviews of the files. Provide outreach/marketing/recruitment for AbiltyOne employment in the local communities by contacting Vocational Rehabilitation, Schools, Community Rehab Facilities, & Behavioral Health Care Companies. Additional Responsibilities Communicate in writing, via phone/email, as well as collaborate in person with local VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) offices, mental health providers, schools, & other community rehabilitation providers in the area in order to recruit personnel for AbilityOne worksites. Provide rehabilitation support to operations by meeting with them weekly to review workflow, training protocol with direct labor positions. Develop relationships with transportation providers in the area & assist direct labor employees with community resources when needed. Attending new employee orientation to facilitate the understanding of company policy and standards to new program participants. Understand & utilize SETWORKS electronic system as required. Assist with conducting satisfaction surveys with employees, stakeholders, & families to gain feedback about their needs and support provided to them. Ensure yearly training is completed by program participants. Attend required ServiceSource, VR, Association of Persons in Supported Employment trainings, & other related conferences/training. Oversee Human Rights Committee Meetings by assisting with minutes, review of incident/accidents by generating quarterly reports utilizing software system, & annual summary of trend/patterns for the NC Regional programs. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Qualified Professional within the Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Substance Use field with BA/BS Degree in Human Services field required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required.
  • Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, families, all levels of staff and community agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to become familiar with corporate specific programs and software.
  • A well-organized & self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Must be able to manage confidential & delicate matters with diplomacy & be able to see the big picture as it relates to the overall development of an organization that strives for excellence
