Facilities Management Full Time Starting Wage: $17.60 per hour Primary Responsibilities Performs work activities associated with special events and projects, including setting-up, moving, and taking down stages, chairs, risers, musical instruments, event equipment, etc. Arranges, sets-up, and operates lighting and public address systems Loads and unloads furniture and related materials onto and off of trucks, ensuring appropriate padding and safety straps/ropes are used to prevent damage Operates small tractors, forklifts, and mechanical lift gates to facilitate loading and unloading of materials and equipment Operates or learns to operate large moving truck in the transportation of moving furniture, materials, and equipment as necessary Assists with University emergencies, i.e. flood, fire, clean-ups, snow removal, etc. Assists other trades or classifications when necessary Completes work orders as assigned and maintains job records Maintains and/or obtains a valid Class E driver's license in first 6 months of employment Provides leadership to student/temporary workers Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned High school diploma or GED Demonstrable work history reflecting stability and reliability Possess and/or obtain a valid Class E driver's license in first 6 months of employment Must live within 30 minutes travel time from the University Ability to arrange, set-up, and operate lighting and public address systems Ability to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as instructed by supervisor Ability to work in inclement weather and be on site for emergencies and snow removal Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting up to 75 pounds, pushing or pulling, and moving heavy items (desks, file cabinets, etc.) with or without accommodations Demonstrable knowledge and experience in safety and efficiently operating mechanical forklifts, lift gates, and platforms Demonstrable knowledge and experience in safely operating a large moving truck Ability to work from ladders and heights up to 60 feet that exist on campus with or without accommodations Ability to stoop, bend, stand, walk, reach, kneel, climb or balance frequently and for extended periods of time while performing job duties Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision Ability to perform work involving considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
