Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Determine patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data.
  • Direct or escort incoming patients from the admitting office or reception desk to a designated area.
  • Assist patients, whether ambulatory or non-ambulatory.
  • Transport patients or deceased individuals alone or with assistance, in a bed, wheeled cart, stretcher, gurney or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all patients, visitors and fellow employees.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately to Supervisor.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and identify and correct unsafe work conditions with management oversight.
  • Adhere to and follow/exercise guidelines pertaining to HIPAA laws and the proper handling and maintaining of an environment where protected health information (PHI) is safeguarded.
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Apply all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
