The position involves operating various duplicating machines and copiers to reproduce materials for all departments and agencies within the County of Hawai`i. The role includes processing and distributing incoming, outgoing, and inter-departmental mail, as well as performing other related duties as required. There is one immediate permanent full-time vacancy with the Office of the County Clerk - Council Services in Hilo, and the eligible list may be used for other permanent and temporary vacancies as they arise.

  • Receives on-line work orders from departments via the mainframe system to reproduce various materials.
  • Reviews work orders and uses discretion on methods and techniques for reproduction.
  • Formats materials using various software applications and checks quality and grade of paper.
  • Follows established priorities and deadlines when reproducing materials.
  • Collects and sorts all incoming, outgoing, and inter-departmental mail for the County.
  • Operates a vehicle to distribute mail to various County locations.
  • Performs postal services and package mailing activities.
  • Ensures compliance with postal regulations and standards.
  • Records shipping charges to department's accounts.
  • Maintains daily and monthly logs for Xerox machine copy counts and postage meter counts.
  • Operates GBC Binding Machine and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Makes minor adjustments to duplicating machines and services them as needed.
  • Maintains stock levels of ink and forms and lifts/restocks cases of paper.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Graduation from high school.
  • Two years of general clerical experience, including operation of personal computers and duplicating machines.
  • Possession of a valid State of Hawai'i driver's license (Class 3) or comparable driver's license.
