About The Position

Fairbanks Sewer and Water has an opportunity for a Support Service Manager. This postion manageges administrative staff and is responsible for utility building maintenance. Work Location and Schedule This position is located in Fairbanks, AK. Position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week (normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday) with hours in excess of 40 per week as needed.

Requirements

  • At least four years experience in a business office with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related studies.
  • Developed public relations skills.
  • Capable of communicating effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and able to manage and accomplish multiple activities simultaneously, sometimes under time constraints.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Effectively supervise and train staff.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office/Windows based applications.
  • Knowledge of wastewater and plumbing terms and general functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative staff to include training, supervision and project assignments.
  • Direct organization, assignment, priority and completion of administrative projects.
  • Responsible for insuring accurate processing and efficient flow of paperwork between this section and other departments/companies.
  • Responsible for utility building maintenance and other building modifications.
  • Responsible for business insurance compliance, renewals and modifications.
  • Responsible for the development, review and update of utility equipment rates.
  • Budgets and review vehicle fleet needs of the utility.
  • Communicate effectively with SVP, President and Vice President. Administration and other department managers on all matters.
  • Supervise purchasing, including review of proposed purchases and budgetary matters and serve as purchasing agent for companies.
  • In Charge of ADEC loan submittals, loan reimbursements and compliance.
  • Perform other activities as assigned by the Vice President / Director of Administration.
