About the position

The position involves assisting Support Engineers with research related to electrical, electronic, and mechanical design issues, as well as addressing obsolescence problems of existing company products and build-to-print jobs. The role requires a thorough review of existing drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) to ensure they reflect the latest design updates from engineering. Additionally, the position necessitates effective utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for creating purchase requisitions, ordering parts, and tracking the progress of production parts. Coordination with field support requirements and maintaining customer relationships during installation efforts are also key responsibilities. The employee must ensure that all activities comply with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and report any deviations to the appropriate area manager or supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) to reflect design updates from engineering.
  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to create purchase requisitions and order parts.
  • Track progress of production parts.
  • Assist in coordination with field support requirements.
  • Follow written and oral instructions and accept constructive criticism.
  • Travel to assist Atec companies with field installations and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain customer relationships during ongoing installation efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient work environment.
  • Ensure activities comply with Atec AS9100/ISO policies and report deviations.

Requirements

  • Four-year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience with applicable Engineering Applications or a combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) or Auto CAD LITE.
  • Experience and familiarity with MIL-SPECS and DOD-STD-100 is a plus.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AS9100/ISO specific procedures and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
