About The Position

Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, on a mission to develop a fault-tolerant quantum computer. We are looking to hire a Support Engineer with microfabrication experience in deposition and dry etching. The candidate will support deposition and dry etching processes needed for superconducting circuit fabrication. The position is on-site at our lab, located on the in Pasadena, CA. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience semiconductor or superconducting device fabrication. Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical support experience
  • 5+ years of superconductor or semiconductor microfabrication experience
  • Hands on experience in sustaining deposition or etch manufacturing in a cleanroom environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with sputterer, electron beam evaporation, or thermal evaporation based deposition systems
  • Experience working with dry etch based fabraction systems
  • 5+ years working in a microfabrication research and development setting

Responsibilities

  • Operate deposition and etching tools in support of production and development projects
  • Perform manual spin coating and wet bench processing
  • Operate metrology including Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), automated optical inspection, electrical test, and profilometry
  • Inspect wafers and write reports documenting process defects
  • Perform tool qualifications for process monitoring
  • Work with engineers and scientists to resolve tool and process issues
