About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS Required : Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose appropriate course of action;. Ability to prioritize workload and effectively manage time, helping co-workers, as needed; Support patient specific workload, or identified extreme patient supply utilization, as needed; Maintain a clean, neat and appropriate appearance for public contact; Ability to interact and collaborate with nursing and other providers in providing assistance in understanding stat or immediate needs of customers, supply needs; Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to meet desired outcomes in the provision of services; Ability to maintain currency with on-line computerized training modules; and Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy. Preferred : Previous knowledge of medical supplies and warehousing operations. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Medium to heavy physical demands. Lifting 5 to 50 pounds frequently from floor to waist height. Lifting 5 to 50 pounds occasionally from floor to head height. Pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds frequently. Must be able to reach frequently in range from floor to 72”. Must have the mathematically ability to determine inventory needs. Must be able to continually grasp supplies from shelves / boxes / carts for up to 8 hours a day. Must be able to walk in excess of 5 miles a day in the normal supplies fulfillment process. Must be able to reach frequently in range from floor to 72”. Must be able to stay focused on repetitive tasks. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Participates in the daily operations of the Distribution, Receiving and Print Shop Sections of the Materials Management Department. Commitment to Team: Develops and facilitates good working relationships with superiors, staff members and coworkers/peers. Contributes in problem-solving activities intra-and inter-departmentally. Demonstrates flexible staffing needs within the department. Uses department resources (supplies, equipment) in a cost effective manner. Communicates effectively and in a timely manner to co-workers through informal updates, written and verbal communications. Consistently meets attendance standards and follows the department standards for "calling in" and requesting time off. Must accept responsibility to model all facets of cooperative team member dynamics. Maintains Orderly/Clean Work Environment: Monitors and maintains Distribution/Receiving equipment. Monitors Performs cleaning; adjusts and operates printing equipment, punches and cutters ensuring safe and effective operation of equipment. Participates in fiscal year physical inventory functions as directed by the Director of Materials Management. Pulls requested supply orders accurately and delivers supplies to using departments in a timely manner. Performs cycle counts and refills warehouse shelves as assigned. May collaborate with care providers. Maintains computerized issue/receipt/adjustment information. Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization. This will be apparent by ongoing completion of any or all of the following: proficiency testing, skill demonstration, practice of core standards for service excellence, and documentation review. MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS Willing to cross-train in other areas of Materials Management. May notify Supervisor of noted supply shortages and determined “dead stock.” Performs other duties as assigned.
