About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a self-motivated candidate with inventory experience for the position of Supply Technician II at Central Office. Requirements

  • One year of experience in inventory, warehouse, material supply or other closely related field.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order; medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test.
  • Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory tracking trends, maintaining stock levels, and verifying product and quantities.
  • Experience processing and filling orders.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Experience or training in leading/supervising others.
  • Experience in process efficiency/improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Audits purchase receipts and invoices for accuracy while inspecting shipments for damage to coordinate returns/corrections with vendors.
  • Maintains strict adherence to state and agency policies regarding the security, documentation, and issuance of equipment and supplies.
  • Manages the shipping and delivery of packages and escorts external vendors through the facility.
  • Leads, oversees, or supervises inmate workers.
  • Coordinates and trains Clothing Coordinators on processes and procedures with the clothing tracking program and requesting/returning of staff clothing throughout NDCS.
  • Loads and delivers items to STA, Surplus Property as well as pick-up items from local vendors as needed.
  • Responsible for performing pre-trip vehicle checks, safety checks and inspections prior to driving.
  • Tracks vest serial numbers and badge numbers for accuracy, usage of life, and notes damage to items for replacing or decommissioning.
  • Verifies the quality of returned items for future issuance to reduce cost.
