About The Position

The Supply Technician – Customer Service monitors the status of customer requisitions and follows up with AFSC to resolve customer issues. Receive and process requirements for units not operating a Management Information Systems (MIS) or systems that do not interface with the AF retail supply system (SCM ADS). The Supply Technician will also perform a variety of warehouse duties towards the care of supplies in storage. Primary liaison between customers and Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC). Conduct document control, demand processing, research, base level records maintenance, base level stock control, bench stock management, customer feedback, troubleshoot materiel management issues, and manage the Price Challenge and Verification Program. This role is temporary full time onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery Alabama.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Material Management, or Warehousing. Air Force or military warehousing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Air Force Supply policy and procedures and experience with Integrated Logistics System Supply (ILS-S), Basing & Logistics Analytics Data Environment (BLADE) system is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to organize clear thoughts and communicate verbally and in writing to various levels of authority.
  • Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, kneel, squat, bend, crawl, stoop, reach, climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and identifies supplies and equipment requirements.
  • Performs operations involved in storage, inspection, identification, and receipt of property.
  • Operates automated equipment, special purpose government vehicles, and materiel handlingequipment.
  • Performs administrative functions as necessary in the conduct of daily supply business.
  • Monitors supply reports and listings and takes appropriate actions as required. Coordinatescorrective actions and requirements with customers and sources of supplies.
  • Prepares and processes transactions through the appropriate supply IT system. Correctsrejects for reprocessing.
  • Prepares, analyses, and evaluates reports, procedures, and policy data.
  • Validate auditable documents for required information and safeguard as prescribed indirective.
  • Initiates, prepares, edits, and processes requisitions for customers, stock, or otherappropriate supply organizations. Verify customer requirements on high priority orders.
  • Coordinate with customers, supply agencies and other appropriate sources of supplies onMICAP and other high priority requisitions, obtain the most current status information.
  • Inspects and evaluates inventory management activities. Periodically inspects activities forcompliance with policies, procedures, and directives for accuracy.
  • Analyzes reports and records activities, reports inefficiencies to supervisors, and recommendscorrective actions to improve operations. Evaluates supply efficiency and equipmentmanagement activities. Uses management products to evaluate accounts.
  • Coordinates with maintenance activities on repairable component actions. Controls andissues bench stock property. Obtains material required for equipment modification, periodic component exchange, and bills of material in support of maintenance. Accounts for all items contained in mobility readiness spares packages.
  • Inspects and identifies property. Inspects conditions of property received. Compares property with procurement specifications. Identifies property, using technical data and blueprints, and identifies components to subassemblies.
  • Inventories supplies and equipment. Conducts research and prepares statements of facts surrounding property loss, damage, or destruction through causes other than wear and tear.
  • Issues, ships, delivers or transfers property from issue, shipping, or transfer destination points through coordination with customers. Controls issue of classified sensitive and controlled items, obtaining custody or document receipts. Pulls, issues, and bins bench stock property.
  • Complies with established fire prevention and safety standards.
  • Familiar with requirements for storage, including those for classified, sensitive, radioactive, hazardous, mobility readiness spares packages and flammable property. Prevents deterioration, contamination, and destruction of property.
  • Performs shelf-life inspections of stock. Controls stock rotation to prevent deterioration and permit maximum use of dated and technical order compliance assets.
  • Deliver parts to customers within established time frames, when needed.
  • Works central receiving activity, coordinates requirements for shipping with transportation.
  • Receives, processes in appropriate IT system, prepares items for shipment to Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.
