Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time Supply Technician 1 to support Mail Services, Receiving, and the Surplus Property Program. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position requires a high level of flexibility and overall knowledge of surplus property, Mail Services, and Receiving operating policies and procedures. This position will ensure all mail is properly charged and recorded, must maintain a high level of accuracy. The Supply Technician 1 will record and process inbound and outbound USPS, UPS/FDX, and LTL shipments, ensure proper labeling and documentation are applied. This position is responsible for organizing and sorting daily mail and package deliveries. The Supply Technician 1 will manage and complete daily delivery routes; assist departments with equipment and furniture selection and relocation. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included maintaining inventory records, inventory storage and handling, shipping and receiving materials and equipment, and/or ordering supplies, equipment and materials; OR One (1) year of experience as a Supply Assistant in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
  • Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
  • A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • Forklift Certification, Radiation Safety Awareness, Hazardous Material Handling and Defensive Driving within 90 days of hire.
