Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Supply Management or Operations (e.g., engineering, specials, manufacturing), project management, product development, or related field.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Steelcase will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

  • Demonstrating critical thinking and leading cross-functional teams through tactical execution.
  • Managing supplier and commodity strategies, including sourcing and cost optimization.
  • Implementing supply chain strategies that balance reliability, agility, and profitability.
  • Applying project management skills to deliver complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Understanding order fulfillment, manufacturing, quality, materials, and logistics processes.
  • Communicating effectively with strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Using tools and methodologies such as value stream mapping, PPAP, ERP systems, and Coupa.

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and strategic influence for product development projects to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Collaborating with assigned Product Development Studio or Affiliate teams as the escalation point for operational matters.
  • Acting as a liaison across Operations to implement strategies that balance time, quality, and cost.
  • Supporting Global Operations strategies by partnering with teams to ensure projects leverage Steelcase capabilities.
  • Analyzing supplier quotes and proposals to determine the best sourcing options for project needs.
  • Understanding material requirements and tooling lead times to align with design intent and timelines.
  • Participating in continuous improvement of Operations and Supply Management processes to drive business outcomes.
